Customer Reviews
A wonderful music!
Yonderboi, a Hungarian genius and talent in modern electronic music, presents a truly wonderful album which will change your views, how the simplest music equipment can create beautiful music.
This album features an emotional and melodic, also saucy mixture of Downtempo, Trip-Hop, Lounge and 60ties Bar-Jazz. With Shallow and Profound Yonderboi presents an album with an exceptional tightness although it was recorded using simple methods and tools, and he also impresses the audience with his mature musical understanding.
From mystic, mesmerizing pieces like =Another geometry=, =Sinking slowly= and =Bodysurf= to magic and uplifting songs like =Milonga del mar=, =100% trevira= and =Pabadam!= Mentioned tracks are not the only good at this CD. It's one more wonderful thing about the album: all tracks without exception are excellent (or good, at least) and are worth of listening!
This music will suit those tastes, who like modern club sound with tempos from very slow-meditation to quite quick-dancing pieces!
awesome
Yoderboi is a young talented dj, producer, sampler from Hungary. He mixes hiphop (.."triphop"), loungy melodies, a sniff of house, ethnic vibes (Eastern Europe) into remarkable, exciting, beat-based songs. His girlfriend sings along on some tracks in the exotic sounding Hungarian language... All songs on this cd are as I said exciting, surprising compositions, but easy to listen to. The keywords for this cd are WARM and MELODIOUS. Very musical.
NOT repetitive and boring like a lot of the lounge music sounds. Cause it's not music to only just 'hear for the sphere', but also to LISTEN to. Yonderboi puts melodies and intruments that are usually used by Balkan-orchestras into groovy tracks. A lot of the Party-people surrounding me love this cd. I buy, listen, make, a lot of music and I'm very critical. my music is progressive techno, Dj Shadow, Rawkus, Moloko, Air, St Germain... But I find "Shallow and Profound" the best cd of 2000. When you're going to listen this cd, listen to "Milonga Del Mar" and Pabadam". In those songs, all the talent of Yonderboi is put together. The cd also contains a contemporary cover of the Doors' "Riders on the storm". Very different from the original, but still recognizable.
Wonderful album
This is a wonderful album - each track seem to be thumping, jazzing and naturally flowing along, creating a soft feel-good vibe. Highly recommended. I have played it for a couple of friends and they all liked it. Too bad it's so hard to find this album in the record store or at Amazon US. I found my copy at Amazon Germany. It's the limited edtion of Shallow And Profound that includes a bonus CD which is really good.
