Customer Reviews
If for no other reason, buy this for the Jay McShann solo!
You may never have heard of him but you won't forget the name after you hear his version of "Once Upon a Time". I have my mother to thank for the discovery, after she heard (and remembered) him. There are other gems on this CD as well, from Judy Garland singing "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" to Dean Martin performing "Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!" (written by the great team of Jule Styne and Sammy Cahn).
The instrumentals are also lovely. If you've seen the film, you'll find yourself thinking of family relationships, especially between sisters and between children and parents. But even if you haven't, you'll love this CD. Get it while you can!
sentimental and touching
i really liked this soundtrack a lot. i saw the movie and absolutely loved the music. i would reccomend this to anyone and everyone, it really helps u take a trip down memory lane.
Typically sweet and sentimental
I considered this soundtrack reminescent of the score from the first HOME ALONE movie. In both there is the element of holiday frenzy, with the orchestra in full pitch. This was followed by more quieter pieces, mainly songs four (paralyzed cowboy), through eighteen (once upon a time). The pieces themselves capture the fleeting moments, favored by what sounds like flutes, piccolos, and other wind instruments.
Christmas holiday standards by Dean Martin and Judy Garland help create a warm, enduring yuletide collection. However, I received this as a gift in the month of June and still manage to listen with regard as a dandy soundtrack album.
