Editorial Reviews
From the Manufacturer
This extra heavy duty fiberglass stepladder has a 300 pound duty rating (type IA). It is made of nonconductive fiberglass rails for added safety in case of electrical hazards. It has internal pinch-proof spreaders, double riveted Traction-Tred steps and has every rivet backed up by a metal part or washer. There is a rear horizontal brace across from each step and knee bracing on the top step and horizontal brace. The molded plastic top has a paint can hook built into the underside. The EDGE (energy diffusing geometric enhancement) molded brace and-foot pad combination provides enhanced bracing strength and increased protection against damage.
Customer Reviews
Superb all-duty ladder for the home
This is especially a great ladder for use _inside_ the house. The sturdy high-impact plastic molded top is better (in my opinion) than a metal top, because if you bump walls or furniture while carrying the ladder, you're a lot less likely to cause damage. In addition, the thing is well-built and extremely durable. By the way, I do recommend adding the Werner "pail shelf", as that enhances the ladder's usefulness.
stepladder
I own two of these ladders, and they have work well for me. They are very stable and easy to move. I also like that you are not grounded when you do electrical work.
fine ladder with lots of strength
This ladder by Werner is easily the best ladder I've ever owned! The construction show a lot of forethought--internal pinch proof spreaders, "traction-tred" steps and even a space for a medium size paint can on the top rung of the ladder! Excellent!
Moreover, whenever I position the folded up ladder up against a wall or any other surface I always get the sense that it will stay. This could be mostly due to the strong rubber pads at the very base of each leg of the ladder. The steps of the ladder give you the sense that as long as you're careful you won't fall off the ladder, either--great!
Although this ladder seems exceptionally sturdy, I would not put more than 275 or even 250 pounds of weight on it--just to make sure it holds the weight well. If you need a ladder to hold more weight Werner or other companies make other ladders for just that purpose.
In addition, one more caveat: don't sit or stand on the very top rung of the ladder (the place where there's the space for the paint can). This may cause the ladder to be unsafe.
Overall, this 4 foot ladder by Werner can take a lickin' and keep on tickin'! If you're in the market for a ladder this size, I highly recommend this one.
