The 1980s were about excess and Heart, with those sweeping chords and soaring vocals, were as representative of the decade's musical immoderation as anyone. True, this collection of Heart stretches up to the mid-'90s, but Heart's sensibilities were thoroughly entwined with '80s guitar rock. This collection reaches only back to 1985, so it lacks such early hits as "Barracuda" and "Magic Man." It's also marred by filler, such as Ann Wilson's lugubrious duet with Cheap Trick's Robin Zander on "Surrender to Me," which originally appeared on the soundtrack to Tequila Sunrise. Still, since much of Heart's late-'80s and early-'90s output is no longer in print, this collection is your best opportunity to get some of their more recent rockers and power ballads on CD. --Genevieve Williams

All the hits plus more....5
When I first got this cd a couple months ago I doubted that I would like it that much but now I love it. This collection of hits from 1985-1995 starts out with "What About Love" which made it to #10. It is a well written song about telling someone what you are really feeling about them. "If Looks Could Kill" lets Heart show that they can get up in your face as well as they can sing about love, which made it to #54. "Never" is another one of those up in your face songs from the band that hit #4. The #1 hit "These Dreams" is one of the mellow, laid back songs on this album and is very well written. "Nothin' At All" is one of the first songs of Hearts that I heard and it is also one of my favorites that made it to #10. Another #1 hit from the group "Alone" is another one of the stand out tracks on this compilation. "Who Will You Run To" (#7) shows off Ann Wilson's vocal abilities. "There's The Girl" (#10) is a good song with great vocals and says that not all girls are what they seem to be. "Surrender To Me" which was a track with Ann Wilson and Robin Zander made it to #6 is a corny song if you ask me. "All I Wanna Do...." (#2) caused a little controversy when it first it was also originally written for Don Henley. "I Didn't Want To Need You" (#23) is a good song about not needing someone after it was a little too late. "Tall,Dark,Handsome Stranger" is a good rock track that is meant to be loud when played if not it is boring. "Stranded" (#13) is a good song about a break up and how everything isn't like a fairy tale. "You're The Voice" was another song that stirred up some controversy love and not war theme and "Back To Avalon" is a acoustic and contrasts some of their other works. "Black on Black II" is an awesome song that reminds me of "Barracuda" with it's guitar riffs. "Will You Be There" lets both of the sisters share mic in this song which made it to #30. "The Road Home" is a live track on the album. If you like Heart and want the hits without buying a mess load of cds this is for you..

An album that is worth every cent5
Without a doubt, Heart is my favorite female group of all time and this album has all of my favorite Heart songs. Ironically, just 3 or 4 months before this cd came out, I put in an order at a music store for an import cd called These Dreams - Heart's Greatest Hits that never came in. Just a couple of months after I cancelled my order from the music store, I looked at Amazon.com and found out that this album was coming out in late June.

I bought this cd as soon as it came out and it's worth every penny. It has all my favorites such as "These Dreams" and "Alone." Even the songs that I wasn't familiar with such as "Back To Avalon" and "I Didn't Want To Need You" are great. If you're a fan of Heart's music after they made their major comeback in the mid 80's, this album is for you. Even if you don't know any of Heart's songs, I still recommend getting it to add to your collection. Ann & Nancy Wilson have two of the best singing voices ever combined with some good musicians that make this album one of the best 'greatest hits' albums of all time.

A Very Complete Compilation of Hits5
I bought this CD recently, and was not disappointed. I've been a fan of Heart since their first album in 1976. This CD thoroughly covers all their hits from the Capitol Records days from 85 through 95. All the melodic rockers as well as their ballads are on this album. The only small hit missing is "Want You So Bad" from the "Bad Animals" album. I was very pleased to see "There's The Girl" and "If Looks Could Kill" on this CD,since these 2 songs get very little airplay on the radio anymore. This is a very good buy, seeing there are 18 songs on a single CD.
