It's Cool... but not Perfect.4
This CD has some really good tracks from Scott Brown, but you should know before you buy... 1. Lost Generation has audible distortion in 2 parts of it: which really ticks me off! 2. Pilgrim 2000 isn't the same version as the one on Happy 2b Hardcore 5. The alter vocal sample's melody is different... That ticks me off too! If you want a much, much better Scott Brown compilation, the only one to get is Happy 2b Hardcore Old Skool DVD. The visuals are cheesy, but the music is awesome! It's definitely Scott Brown's best mix ever. AND it's in both stereo and dolby 5.1!

Scottish Hardcore! =D5
This, I believe, is the first CD of Scottish Hardcore ever released in the US. It's a mixture of happy hardcore, trancecore, bouncy techno and gabba. It's got all of Scott Brown's more recent classics (Pilgrim, Elysium, etc). It's just too bad the Love Me Too and the new remix of Now is the Time were not out by the time this release was made. Anyway, this album is full of fists in the air, jump up and down, Scottish bouncy happycore/hardcore goodness. If you love pounding bass drums at 175+bpm, filled with Juno-ish synths and occasional vocals, you'll love this. It's got 22 tracks and is mixed flawlessly. If you love trancecore, you'll especially love this album. Scott Brown's trancecore (in fact Scottish trancecore, in general) is the best around.

Although it's definitely different from the happycore you'll hear south of the Scottish border (Vinylgroover, Breeze, Vibes, etc), it's a must to get this CD if you've never heard what hardcore sounds like in the north UK. You may or may not like it, but it's a sound that always goes over great at a rave.

My rating: 4 1/2 stars.

Awesome Hardcore5
I liked Scott Brown from the first time I heard him on the Happy 2B Hardcore Series. This CD is more of that and so much more. The energy involved is great and can really lift you up when you need it. For those who don't like hardcore then this isn't for you. The speed sometimes is a little ridiculous and the songs a little repetitive but he has the style that keeps you carefree about repetition. His best songs on here are Elysium and Hallelujah. If you need some party music to spice up that occasion with your buddies, then this is the CD to do it with. No other hardcore CD comes close to comparison. I highly recommend this to you lovers of the hardcore techno and house genre.
