A good example of festive percussion music from South India
The nadhaswaram plays a central role in festive music (wedding ceremonies, religious processions) of southern india and is based on the Carnatic style. Listening to music reminded me of my childhood years in India.
The collection starts with a tradional invocation to Lord Ganesha. Playful tunes as "Thiraada Villayatu Pillai" make listening to this even more enjoyable.
A good CD for those familiar with the music if you want to remincse, or for novices that would like to experience the magic of percussion music from Southern India.
