On Christmas Time delivers - just in time for Christmas!
When was the last time you heard a song that uplifted your soul and really made you FEEL Christmas? That's what you can expect of "Angels" from On Christmas Time, the first holiday CD by U.S. Nat'l Grand Champs of the Nat'l Harmony Sweepstakes, The Coats (formerly known as The Trenchcoats). And what better time of year for perfect harmony then Christmas?! From traditional favorites like Angels We Have Heard on High, Santa Claus is Coming to Town and God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen to their own On Christmas Time and Holiday Countdown, The Coats deliver - just in time for Christmas. Their rendition of Jingle Bells rocks and must be played at maximum volume output level. And then there's Little Drummer Boy. Did I mention these guys are amazing? Don't waste your time or money on the rest, On Christmas Time is the only one you need in your collection. Which reminds me, check out The Coats Collection, just released.

Not only did this album get the grammy runner up for the best independant Christmas CD it also is one of the best Christmas albums ever! Can't say enough about it.
I saw the Christmas Show first at Tacoma's Temple Theater in 2001. I actually got to sing on stage with the guys as part of gag 12 days of Christmas rendition. (No Joke!)
This is probably the only album that has ever given me chills. It's the spirit of Christmas and thensome. Play it anywhere and you'll find yourself singing along in no time.
Warning: You might actually play this CD well into the New Year.
A Cool Christmas CD
The Coats remain my all time favorite group, and this CD doesn't disappoint. Mr. Grinch is priceless to listen to, and the arrangement fits perfectly. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen's arrangement doesn't even come close to fitting the song, but it's a blast anyway! Their original songs are somewhat disappointing, honestly, but the tunes are still catchy, and I'm probably just a die hard for classic Christmas music. Chrsitmas coming? Like a cappella with a little fun? Pick this one up.
