Who can resist the warmth and familiarity of Christmas carols? This lovely compilation provides the listener with inventive, contemporary renderings of the tried and true seasonal songs that we all hold dear. We here at Amazon are so taken with this disc that we use it as our holiday hold music! Synth player extraordinaire Jonn Serrie does a wonderful version of "The First Noel," in which he moves at a deliciously slow and soothing pace. It's easy to imagine pleasing interplanetary winds blowing through his delightful, otherworldly interpretation. "Angels We Have Heard On High," courtesy of Celestial Winds, is imbued with a mysterious folkloric vibe that proves irresistible while Esteban's "What Child Is This? (Greensleeves and Mittens Edit)" bathes the listener in a gentle stream of calming guitar tones. Cheery opens and closes with two striking versions of "The Ukrainian Bell Carol," and they serve as beautiful bookends for this sweet-toned holiday album. --Chuck Campbell

Ambient trance holiday music
Ya gotta love it!!! A collection of ambient/trance electronic Christmas music. How obscure is that? Actually, the selection of artists and tracks is excellent! I admit that I love holiday music, but not junk. This is not junk. The artists range from full-blown, rich electronic (Jonn Serrie) and *classical* harpy, new age (Georgia Kelly) to world crossover (Esteban and Teja Bell). ... If you buy electronic space music, but you still like melodies, and you are not an anti-holiday, humbug, then I'd recommend you go for it!! The holidays can be fun, and this CD will help you enjoy yourself. Besides, Waveform is an excellent label, and we need to support efforts like this!!!
and 1\2 com"YULE"ation Cleric : Seasonal Soundscapes
Mirth Merchandizers with thier elf'n ears perked for nonphonetic performers from various indie labels, then compiling compelling craftings into conceptual collections on a leading edge of composition.New millennium merry mix that is sometimes world whirley, sonic swirley, or deep dreamy. Granted not everyones choice of genre, but a wise selection when seasonal soundscaping is all that is needed. In fact the trancy techno treatment brings a welcome freshness as opposed to the conplaisant insrtu-tinsels done with a more traditional approach that found inclusion. ~~~Merrily Mix~ 1#1\2 , 2#1\2 , 3$ , 5$ , and 12$ ~~~ Post Script: The compiler's selection of mostly seasonal standards was too safe, I'd chosen more lesser knowns and\or some YULEridGEMals to add insight. Hopefully we will hear a more inspired volume 2, if so moved ordering info for each artist listed in the liner notes.Benevolent Benefactor Betaken***buyit*savesome*sharesome*donateit to the local library***YULEridGEMality Factor = 2
