The Wilton 63200/1755 Tradesman Vise is great for general purpose, service, or maintenance work. Holds pipes, fittings, machined parts, fabrications, and components. Wider jaws provide for a greater clamping surface. A fully enclosed spindle and nut increases the life of this vise. This vise has a 360 degree swivel base with double lockdowns, a precision turned sidebar, and is made from 60,000 PSI tensile ductile iron.

big, solid, nicely machined
After shopping exhaustively for a Wilton bench vise I happened across this one in an internet search, and was surprised to learn it was for sale at Amazon.

It weighs 50 lbs, a major shipping weight, but shipping was free.

The jaws are held in place with hex screws, and can be reversed. The surface on one side has ridges for gripping; on the other side, the jaws are smoothly machined.

The vise has an unusually deep throat, which is helpful for sheet metal bending, and for aluminum sheet cutting operations. It is a big, big vise, but I find I can readily use it for fine work as well as for heavy stuff.

Outstanding Vise
Picked this vise up for my shop recently from Amazon. My dad had an old Wilton Vise and after probably 40yrs of regular use, still in excellent shape..I thought I'd be brand loyal. This vise is built like a tank and should last generations. Love the locking swivel base.The jaws are reversible and secured w/ hexscrews.(Ridged/serrated on one side/smooth on the other)I have picked up a set of Wilton 21111 5-1/2" Multi-Grip Vise Jaws made of soft polyurethane. Have put those to use already and have avoided scratching up my material..Picked them up from Lowes for around $8. Amazon sells them for around $15. Built in pipe jaws are also replaceable and a very nice feature. The anvil is also nice. It too has been put to use but I'm reluctant to really come down on it with a large hammer.The vise is expensive but you are getting a quality engineered item that should last forever..I ended up getting the Wilton 63185/159V Pedestal Base also from Amazon. This combo is nice. I have a free worktable in my shop and my vise is mounted to the left rear of the table at about waist level.On the pedestal base, the vise can be moved to a different location in my work area if needed.

Great Vise
This vise is a champ. I recently ordered this vise because of Wilton's brand reputation. It has exceeded every expectation I have. If you are going to get a vise, pay the extra money and go for this one.
