Cutthroat furtrappers steal their horses, plotting to ambush the helpless pioneer family and steal money and supplies. Young Jacob meets a friend in the wilderness: a kindly mountain man who offers his help to the pioneers. But the greatest challenge yet lies ahead-Jacob must confront the awesome, monster grizzly bear known only as Walking Thunder!

John Denver did a terriffic job with this movie-great acting5
John Denver played the family man in this movie extreemly well. He interacted well with the other actors/actress.He seemed to love the part he was playing. He almost made you beleive he wasn't acting at all.He is greatly missed!

Great family movie! A must for JD fans!4
What a great family movie! The kind of movie they used to make! John Denver was a man of many gifts as seen in this film. How he is missed. This is a must for any JD fan collection!

Excellent family oriented movie5
I really enjoyed this movie. John Denver played his part as a God fearing family man very well, however naive to the ways of the wilderness. There is plenty of adventure, excitement, tension, and rescue as the good guy arrives just in the nick of time to fight off the evil bad guys. I really enjoyed the role of the old Indian medicine man as well as the old Grizzly Bear - Walking Thunder. Highly recommended....
