Customer Reviews

Wonderful5
This entire album will have you on your feet dancing to the infectious beat of reggae. This is reggae at it's best, from Toots and the Maytals to Peter Tosh every song is terrific. It is impossible to pick a favourite, the whole album is one that you can play over and over. Unfortunately, due to licensing difficulties, Putumayo were unable to include a track by Bob Marley, but there are enough great artists on here to more than make up for that. Culture's "Why am I a Rastaman", Black Uhuru's "Sponji reggae" and Jimmy Cliff's "Give the people what they want", to name but three. If you are anything of a reggae fan, then this album belongs in your collection. 20 page booklet includes photos and information on each artist. Recommended.

If you LOVE world beat music, buy it5
I strongly disagree with the reviewer who bought it in Boston and hates it because all they like is Bob Marley. I love Bob Marley, but his music is not all there is to World Beat and it's not all there is to Jamaican Music. I have over 12 Putamayo CDs and love them - this one included - and many different Reggae CDs - Marley included. One of the cool things about the Putamayo CDs is that they provide exposure to a wide variety of artists and musical styles that the listener may not otherwise have experienced. If you have an open mind and want to experience different styles of world beat music, buy this and other Putamayo CDs and broaden your horizons!

I feel like I am home!5
My roots being Jamacian , I hear these beats and it makes me homesick!
I love this cd from top to the bottom.
Not a bad track on the cd.
If you like world reggae you'll love it.
