Great product at a good price !
I just bought this burner and I am real happy with it.
It is currently one of the fastest external CD Burners out there with 24x write speed and its going for about the same price IOMEGA is offering their new external USB 2.0 drive which only has 16x write speed. Its capatiable with the old USB 1.1 standard so if your PC does not have the new USB 2.0 interface you can still use it at a slower 4x-4x-8x speeds. I didn't have the 2.0 USB on my pc so I bought a 2.0 USB adaptor to add on my PC for just 40 bucks and I got the fast write speeds.I didn't have any problems burning CD's and it has the buffer error protection built in so it significantly reduces the chance of getting CD write errors.

Didn't work for me
I tried installing this drive on a 6-month old Sony VAIO notebook, and I couldn't write a single CD out of a dozen. I looked at everything on their web site, and all the documentation on the supplied CD-Rom. Couldn't figure out what was going on. Finally found some tiny small-print on the box (and nowhere else is this mentioned) -> it will only support Windows 98SE or ME, if and only if you have an Adaptec USB host controller card. My VAIO has a generic card, so it's a no-go.

easy, even without much computer knowledge
It works great. Just plug in, load programs and go! It is fast, quiet and cd's sound awesome. Thank you for making it easy for me. I knew I wanted something to record fast off my laptop, even though it was an external recorder. I got everything I wanted and at a great price. I highly recommend this QPS product!!
