Customer Reviews

Somewhat Disappointing3
Quality-wise, the video is good considering that it is taken from an original made over 40 years ago. I bought the video based on a review written by a big-band guitarist on his own website. That writer strongly indicated that the all-time master of the rhythm guitar, Freddie Green, could be seen playing guitar in his unique style as part of the Count Basie Quartet. In fact, very little of Freddie is actually shown; nor is he heard very much. The person who wrote the above referenced review also stated that Basie showed dislike for Ralph Gleason, the talk show host, and that he turned his back on him at one point. I found that the Count's behavior was perfectly gentleman-like and casual and that it would be stretching a point to say that he disliked his host; I didn't get that out of it at all. I was not disappointed with the video as a product--it was honestly advertised and reasonably priced--but based on the misleading review, I was expecting to see a lot of Freddie and didn't!
