Customer Reviews
An excellent compilation set
An excellent set with lots of fun tracks. Not every song is perhaps the best choices for the era, however, realizing that there is an accompanying PBS television show covering the same material, it explains the choices of groups and songs in this set. Better known groups and songs may have been unavailable.
The good news is that the recordings are original, remastered, and not the same as the television special. As a result, the voices and material are as you remember them--with the artist(s) at their height. The bulk of the material is good. An enjoyable box set.
Rock/doo wop standards
ROCK, RHYTHM AND DOO WOP is an excellent collection for fans of rock & roll TOP 40 radio. The majority here were top sellers in their day and got the most airtime. By those parameters alone, they would be considered "the greatest."
Main criticisms--
Since these tunes are more likely to appear on various artists compilations, even the beginning collector may already own a good percentage of them. Additionally, the three CDs here could easily have accomodated 90 songs, instead of 66.
The 64-page long-box style book is quite excellent-- packed with full page photos and lots of interesting details. Sound quality of the transfers is very good, as well. Altogether, this is a nice package of rock & roll and doo wop standards.

Rock Rythem And Doo Woop
I love all of the oldies. The concerts PBS has had the last years have been super. The first one 50 Years of Doo Woop was wonderful. Doo Woop 51 not so good, but Rock Rythem and Doo Woop was the best of all. I would recommend this to everyone! I hope that T J Lubinsky has more concerts like this. It's great to see all of the performers after all of these years. Thank you! Dick Sitta
