Album Description
CHASIN THE BLISS ! First release of songs written and perfomed by RAY COOKE and an accompaniment of some of the best musicians in New England. An acoustic to rock backbeat, pop chops, bluesy electric guitar, hypnotic vocals, ragtime piano, and a classic rock sound. With an alternative new rock shake, this recording should not be missed! This CD was written with songs from the heart, a realistic view of life as the artist sees it and how it feels. Rising up from the ashes of a lost childhood , this artist has dedecated his adult life to what he does best, SING! With true emotion and genuine attack, with lyrics from happy to sad, lost and found, greener grass and life lessons,he will touch you in the way he knows best!
About the Artist
Ray Cooke was born in Providence, R.I. in a time when rock music was revolutioned. Listened to bands like "The Stones", "Elton John", "The Beatles", and "The Doors". Ray jumped up and down in his crib and screeched in delight! He was hooked! Though times were tough for Ray and his family, and hope was often dim, music became a great escape, and later an outlet. Playing electric guitar to Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, Ray found his nitch. He played in various bands and hit various clubs throughout New England. As time went by, writing and singing became a key focus. For 10 years Ray layed back, started a family, and tried different occupations, including a successful Volvo repair business, which he left to devote more time to his family and music. Over the years, singing and songing became Ray's forte. Polishing his talents with an acoustic guitar and pen, Ray has risen above and beyond any expectations. With the release of his first CD,"CHASIN THE BLISS", and performing a solo acoustic act, Ray has had rave reviews and has become even more focused and commited to his love of music, writing, and performing!
