With its full auto mode, the user-friendly Sharp VL-AH151U Hi8 camcorder enables you to simply point and shoot to capture hours of fun video memories. It also features a picture-in-picture mode, 3-inch LCD, optical and digital zoom capabilities, and digital image stabilization.

Lens
With an optical zoom magnification of 16x, the VL-AH151U also has a digital zoom--which works by electronically enhancing the optical image--that can magnify the picture up to 400 times. The digital image stabilization system keeps the picture steady and solid throughout zooms and camera shakes.

Other Features
With its 270-degree variable angle, you can hold the VL-AH151U in a variety of angles to record over people and objects or close to the ground. You can even record yourself by rotating the view screen 180 degrees. The VL-AH151U also features several digital effects (black and white, sepia, NEG) that can be viewed without affecting the original recording.

Sharp's advanced circuitry allows recording down to less than 1 lux (the light of one candle about one yard away from the subject) and eliminates complex lighting arrangements and harsh floodlight glare. The backlight-compensation feature also adjusts only the dark parts of a shot to optimal brightness levels, and leaves the bright sections untouched, so they don't become glaringly washed out.

This Sharp camcorder is S*H*A*R*P!
I love this camcorder! BATTERY PACK CHARGING: Three hours. CONTINUOUS RECORDING TIME: One and a half hours. CONTINUOUS PLAYBACK TIME: One and a half hours. ON-SCREEN DISPLAYS: Easy to use and easy to read. You can watch the playback on your TV with the supplied A/V cable. Select from three zoom ranges: Optical, 1-16x; Digital, 16-64x or 64-400x. The picture quality decreases when the higher digital zoom settings are used. The big plus to this small camcorder is the digital image stabilization function that electronically compensates for image shakes that plague older video buffs like me! Also has the basic features you want in a camcorder, fade-in and fade-out, macro shots (close-up images from only five feet away), and self-recording by flipping the monitor 180 degrees. Advanced features: Digital-effects, black-and-white recording, sepia color recording, solar (enhanced contrast), stretch (image looks wider), slim (image looks taller), and negative effect (image colors inverted). The camcorder comes with titles that can be superimposed AND you can change the preset titles! Last but not least this camcorder gives you the ability to shoot Picture-in-Picture. The camcorder is only 7-7/32" wide x 4-9/32" high, 3-7/8" deep and weighs just one and one-half pounds. If you are on a budget to buy a camcorder then this is the one! I saw the new Panasoinic E- wear which was my first choice but it ... , it doesnt even have ZOOM! It does almost nothing only shoot pictures and download Mp3 . But the SHARP camcorder does alot of things and it is at a good price and it is a good size because i wouldn't buy a big bulky size camcorder !......WHO WANTS THAT!? This has a LCD screen and has picture in Picture and it has ZOOM which is the most important thing in taking pictures from far away or film something far away.

Great value at a great price.
This little gem has all the right stuff. Auto focus with great clarity, a small price tag and a great size for carrying. I can't wait to take it to Disney World!
