The Real Deal
Listen folks I a have a massive Jamaican music collection. This box set is the finest. There is no way you will dislike. Every feverish song makes you feel like dancin'... feel like jumpin'...
Seriously Trojan has done a great job w/ this set. This is the foundation for all reggae music. A side note, don't bother with the Second Ska Box set.

Not Skatastic
A controversy! Well, I really love good ska. It can be old ska, new ska, bluebeat, rocksteady, whatever... as long as it's good. There are a few good songs on this (maybe more than 10%), but not a lot. Certainly not all "gems." By definition, everything can't be above average and you get everything with Trojan. You may find a few undiscovered nuggets if you take the time to wade through it all. I wish they'd made fewer collections with better songs, but at least they're fairly cheap...

always a good bet
my wife and i have over a dozen trojan box sets and we have never gone wrong. we gave this one to our brother in law for x-mas, we already had it, and he loves it. of course he is a ska fan to begin with, so it was an easy choice. sound is great, box appears ecofriendly, the assortment of tracks is stupendous, and the price is spot on - try some of these box sets out and you will not be sorry!
