Amazon.com Product Description
Powerful and packed with advanced features--yet decidedly easy to use--the Kodak DX4330 offers a 3-megapixel CCD sensor and a 3x optical zoom lens. The DX4330 also features automatic scene modes, a 16 MB internal memory, and a new indoor-outdoor LCD for reviewing your shots in even the sunniest of conditions.

Optics and Resolution
The DX4330 delivers vivid and consistent color images up to 2,160 x 1,400 pixels, which produces print sizes up to 11 by 14 inches. Zoom into the action with a 3x optical zoom, equivalent to 38-114mm in a 35mm camera. When combined with the 3.3x digital zoom, you get a total zoom of 10x. It has an aperture range of f2.8-f5.1 and a shutter speed of 1/2 to 1/1,700 of a second.

Storage and Transfer
The DX4330 is always ready to go with its 16 MB of internal memory, and it can be expanded via MultiMediaCard (MMC) and Secure Digital (SD) memory cards.

The Share button on the back of the DX4330 enables you to tag pictures right on the camera for automatic printing or e-mailing after transferring them to your PC. You can even store up to 32 e-mail addresses in the camera. With the optional Kodak EasyShare camera dock, transferring your pictures from the camera to a PC is as easy as pushing a single button. Also, when docked, the DX4330's batteries are recharged in 2.5 hours or less.

Movie Mode
In movie mode, the DX4330 captures continuous video and audio, which can then be played back via the camera's LCD and built-in speaker. The limited resolution of your movies guarantees that this feature won't replace your camcorder, but it's perfect for when you just want to capture a quick movie and e-mail it to a friend or relative.

More Features
Preview and review your shots easily on the DX4330's 1.8-inch indoor-outdoor LCD, which lets you maintain exceptional viewing quality even in bright sunlight. You can also magnify shots that you review in the LCD by 2x or 4x.

From landscape to sports, easy-to-access scene modes take care of the details so you can consistently get the perfect shot. Use the DX4330's creative modes for even more photo flair.

Power
The DX4330 is powered by a CR-V3 lithium battery (included) or optional NiMH rechargeable batteries that are charged by the optional EasyShare dock. We recommend getting a set or two of rechargeable nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries and a charger.

Size and Contents
The DX4330 measures 4.4 by 2.6 by 1.9 inches and weighs 7.4 ounces without batteries. This package includes the DX4330 digital camera, CR-V3 lithium battery, AV and USB cables, wrist strap, lens cap and strap, and Kodak EasyShare CD-ROM.

Customer Reviews

Excellent Digital Camera! Skip the Dock, though.5
The DX4330 is my first digital camera and I am very pleased. It really is easy and fun to use. The 3X optical zoom is a very nice feature and the image quality is excellent.

It is really nice to pick out the pictures you like, edit them (the free Kodak editing software is very good) and print them. If you want to do fancy stuff such as add text to the pictures, you will have to use a more powerful editor such as PaintShop Pro or Photoshop Elements. Instead of printing mine, however, I uploaded them to [local store] for $$$ per 4X6 or $$$ per 5X7. The results were great!

I bought the DX4330 bundled with the Easy Share Dock. Now that I see what the Dock is all about, I would not recommend others buy it. It gives you the dock and a NiMH "Battery Pack." The camera snaps into the dock and it will charge the battery while it is connected. The USB connection from the dock allows you to transfer your files to you PC also.

Here is the rub, however: The dock will ONLY charge the special Kodak NIMH "battery pack" - if you have other NIMH batteries in the camera, it will not charge them. I think the shape of the plastic shroud on the kodak batttery pack trips a switch inside the camera to tell it that the pack is in there.

As to uploading pictures - you don't need the dock. You can just as easily plug the camera itself into the PC via the USB cable. Windows sees it as just another hard drive and you can drag and drop you pictures to where you want them.

Instead of buying the dock, I would recommend the following:

1.) Buy a nice Maha charger and some Powerex 1800 NiMH AA batteries - This will solve your battery problems.

2.) Buy a 128MB SanDisk SD card for less than $$$ (they keep getting cheaper). This will let you store about 100 highest quality photos in your camera instead of about 16 with the internal memory.

3.) Buy a cheap SD USB card reader - I bought a PNY model for $$$. This lets you take the SD card out of the camera and pop it into the card reader to load into your PC - you won't have to connect the camera at all!

Hope this helps!

Great camera for the $5
I bought this camera today, after several weeks of diligent search. I stopped on the Kodak, the easiest camera to use, the docking station makes it easy to share pictures. Optical zoom and digital zoom make it very handy. Over all, Kodak gives its best for the money.
Much better than the olympus and sony, and handy SD memory card - can be used in Palm products for photo viewing. Very good software, great red eye reduction, online printing and the warranty is 1 year, while sony is 3 months.

Kodak 43305
This camera is an excellent value for those on a budget looking for quality and ease of use. The camera is the easiest camera I have ever used and is for the most part just point and click. The dial settings for macro, action and night shots work very well. The quality of the pictures are extremely good. The only thing I would recommend is additional memory for the camera. I purchased an additional 64 mb which will hold 50 pictures at the highest resolution. It does consume batteries as any digital camera does, but I have found that the Kodak CRV3 and the Kodak rechargeables last the longest. I keep a couple of the CRV3 and 2 extra rechargeables in my camera bag as backup. The dock is a good option for transferring the pictures and for recharging (only works with the Kodak rechargeable battery pack), but I purchased an additional Kodak recharger and that works well for me. The Easyshare software that is included is good for organizing photos. Its option to upload pictures to several different photo developing sites is one that I have used for high quality photo prints. Overall I would highly recommend this camera to novice as well as experienced camera users as a good solid performer for those who don't need all the bells and whistles for low to medium usage.
