Best one I have
Opened the package, installed it, and it has been running with no problems for the last six months. Never any problem reading or loading disks, and the 52X write speed is really fast. The only drawback I've found is that the cooling fan makes a lot of noise right next to the computer when I would rather hear the sound effects of a game or music.

Works good but I didn't receive what I ordered
The product I ordered was the 52x24x52 ext drive. I specifically ordered this one based on other reviews of the product. When the order arrived, the package contained the I/O 52x32x52 plus a note from I/O telling me that they upgraded my product free of charge. The box was marked as the 24x but contained the 32x instead. If I had wanted the 32x, I could have ordered it originally and saved some cash as it was cheaper than the 24x. Reviews of the 32x weren't as positive as the 24x so I really wanted to avoid the 32x. I kept the drive hoping it would work alright. So far, so good but I/O should make the retailers aware of this upgrade. I installed the drive on an older computer running Windows 98. The installation went smooth and was up and running in minutes.

Easy and practical
This extrenal drive is easy to set up and to use. It is a worthwhile product for those who like to create CDs for their friends.
