Joe and his friend Blue tackle the preschool basics of circles, rectangles, even trapezoids while sorting through Blue's hints as to where she would like most to see more shapes in "Shape Searchers." If the clues cash register, cart, and food don't add up for you, the kid chorus will help you out. The second episode finds the pair in their backyard making a "portrait of pals," a painting of their many-colored friends. But they only have primary colors, so in order to paint Orange Kitten, for instance, they have to mix red and yellow. Joe makes the most of this opportunity for a color lesson with the assistance of Shovel, who turns out to be a superb artist without the help of a brush. Who knew? (Ages 2 to 6) --Kimberly Heinrichs

Very Educational and Palatable for adults
These Blue's Clues videos are very educational. They are very fun and very gentle for young children. They are appropriate for ages about 18 months to about 3.
My young girl who is 5 sometimes will watch them with her little brother age 3, but it is not her favorite video any more and she knows all the answers now.
This one talks about shapes and colors and teaches a variety of shapes and colors in a pleasing, fun way. It encourages children to shout out answers, look for clues and use their thinking skills to solve problems all while teaching them about colors and shapes. This video also teaches colors not normally taught and how to mix other colors to get new colors. It also teaches different shapes than ones you might expect (polygon).
Well worth the money.
Enjoy.
A good teaching tool
This is a good teaching tool for parents that want to teach their children about shapes and colors. Kids get a chance to dance and sing and learn at the same time. My daughter enjoys watching this movie and she gets a kick out "interacting" with the characters. A smart purchase.
Get to know Joe first
This is a great title; my children especially like the part where colors are mixed to create new ones. However, I would recomend watching "Get to Know Joe" to smooth the transition from Steve to his brother if your children are not familiar with him.
