A Pro Level Heavy Duty Tripod
I have owned other Bogen-Manfrotto tripods for years. The quality is always first rate. This 3051 Studio Pro Tripod is a well built tripod that can be used in a studio or on location. I am a commercial photographer that needed a sturdy tripod that I could shoot interior room shots from every angle, higher angles need a very tall tripod that is also stable. I had a lighter Manfrotto that I could set up on my location shoots, but it did not extend as high as I wanted, but this tripod is great. It's height will reach to almost 8 ft when extended all the way, and it will support as much weight as the head you use will allow. I have to say although I use it as a location tripod, it's not a light weight tripod, so I would not buy it for hiking long distances to remote locations, but for indoor or outdoor shooting, I can't think of a more stable tripod. Don't forget you will need to buy a head for it, a good head is as important as the tripod itself. I have been using this for several months now and so far it's been even better than I had expected. I also have a tripod bag that I use to carry it when I'm on location shoots, makes it much easier to transport.
Flexible Yet Solid Tripod
I do video for a church and we have five of these tripods which we use to shoot our weekly services as well as shooting lots of differnt studio type video interviews. These are very sturdy and stable which really helps to cut down on vibrations and allow for fluid movement in a live environment. The adjustments are really different than your normal cheapo tripod and it can be a bit frustrating at first to try to get the thing level if you aren't used to them. But it is really nice to be able to put each leg at a different angle and/or height, especially as we sometimes use these on a sloped surface. Highly recommended.
Doesn't get any better
This is the ultimate studio tripod. If you really want to spoil yourself get the dolly that matches it. You will not be hauling this tripod around to remote locations but for the in studio use it can't be beat.
