If her 2002 tour really was her last--and after being "an evil frickin' diva for 40 frickin' years," as she puts it, she just might mean it--Cher has definitely left us something to remember her by. In the course of this 92-minute concert (plus loads of extra features), she wears enough different costumes and wigs to outfit a small (if rather odd) town, surrounds herself with dancers and acrobats galore, shows clips from her old TV series, and even plays all the roles in a delightful mini-version of West Side Story (one of the extras). Oh, and she sings too, covering everything from the Sonny & Cher years to her early solo career and her renaissance as a disco diva via "Believe." Bottom line: The Farewell Tour is a dynamic, sometimes silly, always entertaining show. As Cher herself notes, Britney, J-Lo, and all the others have a tough act to follow. --Sam Graham

Surviving DIVA.
Cher has been singing for over 40 years and she did it very good and I think that she'll continue doing it. So in 2002 she decided to start what it was going to be her Farewell Tour.
This show is similar as her 2000 Believe Tour but with more production and quality (with this I'm not saying that it was bad, it was very good actually but this is way much better).
On this show you can see Cher performing all her hits plus others that were on the program but weren't added to the final cut of the concert that was recorded in the American Airlines Arena in Miami Beach. As every Cher show you'll see lots of costumes changing, specail effects, lots of dancers and all Cher's Extravaganza. She has been very clever doing it now that she can do it very good without showing weakness of any kind.
Some of the songs here are her #1's "Gypsies, tramps and thieves", "Dark lady", "Half-breed" and "Believe" plus her other hits like "If I could turn back time", "Just like Jesse James", "I found someone" and "Song for the lonely".
She covered once again as the opening number U2's "I still haven't found what I'm looking for" (which honestly sounds better on her).
And finally among the special features you'll find the new "If I could turn back time" video, 3 extra live songs, Cher's special version of West Side Story (not big deal) and behind the scenes.
Very good Cher you did it again.
Excellent performance, I was pleasantly surprised
I went into watching this concert with some reservation, but was pleasantly surprised. Cher's costume changes, and impressive songlist make this a must-own DVD. The only song I don't think she should include is the U2 cover of "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", this song does not work for Cher.
I thoroughly enjoyed the 'history' part of the show where Cher
dresses like she did in the 70's and performs her hits from then as part of a medley. Cher still looks exactly the same as she did, so dressing up like that really works well. I also loved it when the medley moved into her 1979 disco hit "take me Home". Cher appeared in a carbaret outfit for this, simply stunning! Then the song "The Way of Love" was performed, and Cher reappeared looking like she did in the mid 70's with very long straight black hair and an elegant slinky gown. This performance alone, is worth the price of the DVD.
If all of this wasn't enough, Cher does more costume changes for the "If I could turn back time" song, and yes, she really pulls this off beautifully.
Love her, or hate her, you cannot deny that Cher is one of the true survivors. I have the utmost respect for an artist that continually reinvents themselves, but does not forget any of their past.
This concert is an absolute pleasure to watch. I highly recommend it to see how a true performer puts on a show. Well done Cher. I only wish the concert was longer.
THE ULTIMATE DIVA!
I bought this DVD yesterday and have already watched it about 5 times! Cher's natural gift for performing makes this concert an electrifying show with too many costume changes to count on both hands!
The show's song run as follows:
1. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For 6/10
2. Song For The Lonely 8/10
3. Gayatri Mantra 5/10
4. All Or Nothing 7/10
5. I Found Someone 8/10
6. Bang Bang 7/10
7. Sonny & Cher Medley (The Beat Goes On, Baby Don't Go, I Got You Babe) 9/10
8. All I Really Want To Do (Medley Part 1) 6/10
9. Half-Breed (Medley Part 2) 7/10
10. Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves (Medley Part 3) 8/10
11. Dark Lady (Medley Part 4) 9/10
12. Take Me Home 5/10
13. The Way Of Love 6/10
14. After All 10/10
15. Just Like Jesse James 10/10
16. Heart Of Stone 6/10
17. The Shoop Shoop Song 10/10
18. Strong Enough 9/10
19. If I Could Turn Back Time 10/10
20. Believe 9/10
Every song in the show is a classic but nothing can beat Cher's performances of 'Just Like Jesse James', 'The Shoop Shoop Song', and 'If I Could Turn Back Time'. The 'Sonny & Cher' montage is a nice stroll down memory lane as are the montages showing Cher's movies and and other things including her Oscar win for 'Moonstruck'.
The special features are also very entertaining and include a behind the scenes look at the tour, Cher's special version of 'West Side Story', and the 2003 re-edit music video for 'If I Could Turn Back Time'.
This is a must have DVD for any Cher fan young or old, the only bad thing about it is that it is her farewell tour!
