Angelina is a promising young ballerina with a sensitive ego and an unruly temper. It's not surprising, then, that Angelina's excitement over the upcoming Christmas dance production of Cinderella Mouse and the Ugly Whiskers quickly turns to fury when visiting composer and musical director Mr. Operatski casts Priscilla in the starring role of Cinderella, leaving Angelina to dance the role of Wicked Stepmouse. Taking Miss Lilly's advice, Angelina tries to "think horrid," but ends up acting so selfishly that Mr. Operatski dismisses Angelina all together and re-casts Miss Lilly as the Wicked Stepmouse. When Angelina unwittingly injures Miss Lilly, the entire performance is threatened. Can Angelina's newfound humility and good intentions save the production? (Ages 3-8) --Tami Horiuchi

Fun Holiday/Ballet Story for Kids
It's Christmastime in Mouseland, and everyone's favorite little ballerina, Angelina, is auditioning for the role of Cinderella in the ballet Cinderella Mouse and the Ugly Whiskers. Angelina is absolutely positive that she will get the coveted role, as she is the best dancer, but when horrible Priscilla Pinkpaws is chosen to play Cinderella, thanks to Angelina's fear of singing in public, and Angelina gets the less-important role of the Wicked Stepmouse, and storms off in a fit of temper, much to Miss Lily's disapproval. But when a toboggan race between Angelina and Priscilla turns bad, she realizes that thanks to her bad additude, the show will be cancelled, and knows that it's her who has to save the day, because, as we all know, the show must go on!
Fans of the ANGELINA BALLERINA book series, written by Katharine Holabird, and illustrated by Helen Craig, will relish in the screen version of the world's favorite little ballerina. Angelina is a fun, spunky character, and her friends, including Alice, and her little cousin, Henry, make the movie much better. While THE SHOW MUST GO ON is a fun holiday/ballet movie for children of all ages, it also teaches a lesson: you don't always get what you want, but you need to make the best of it. Parents will love the great message that THE SHOW MUST GO ON delivers, and children will love the animation, and storyline. A must-have this holiday season.

Even adults enjoy Angelina!
My grandson (he is 3) LOVES Angelina. And, unlike most of the squeaky voiced children's videos, the Angelina Ballerina videos are actually adult-friendly. The artwork is lovely, the stories have morals/lessons, and what I like best is the music! It is not only not irritating, but pleasant to listen to. The voices are Judith Densch and her daughter, among others, and very British, but that is fun too. If you like the books, you will LOVE the videos!
This is great!
I really love this DVD, even though I haven't seen it before. If I were in ballet class and it was auditioning for a dance production called Cinderella, I would want the starring role of Cinderella instead of playing the Wicked Stepmother or Stepsister. I didn't like the part where horrible Priscilla Pinkpaws is chosen to play Cinderella and Angelina is cast as the Wicked Stepmouse. When Angelina quits the ballet, Mr. Operatski re-casts Miss Lilly as the Wicked Stepmouse. But if the show must go on, I might not care about getting the part of Cinderella at all. When Angelina injures Miss Lilly, Mr. Operatski re-casts Angelina as the Wicked Stepmouse again. I don't know why Mr. Operatski wants Angelina to play the Wicked Stepmouse if she is Miss Lilly's best dancer. I might like getting the part of the Wicked Stepmother or Stepsister.
