TURNING OVER A NEW PAGE AT HOLIDAY TIME5
We've waited a long time --- a very long time --- for Patti Page's latest holiday recording. But Santa does deliver. Eventually. The 12 tracks capture Page at her best, a voice that's as fresh and full as when she was waltzing in Tennessee. What makes this CD unique is that Patti chose tunes requested by her fans, including the delightful "I Want to Go Skating With Willie" (which she first recorded in 1954) and the 1959 holiday ditty "Little Donkey," here released on CD for the first time.

FINALLY, A NEW CHRISTMAS ALBUM BY PATTI PAGE!!!5
Yes, this is Patti's 3rd Christmas album! The first was recorded in 1951 (with additions in 1955 for the 12 inch release) and the second was recorded in 1965.
This album includes new millenium recordings of three Patti Page Christmas favorites: CHRISTMAS CHOIR originally recorded in 1951, I WANNA GO SKATIN' WITH WILLIE from 1954 and Patti's 1959 holiday favorite LITTLE DONKEY (original never available after the original 45 rpm release). All compare favorably with the originals. Patti has also included many of her all time favorites including Jingle Bells, Silver Bells, Little Drummer Boy and Santa's coming to town. The highlights of this cd collection are Patti's recordings of WHITE CHRISTMAS and THE CHRISTMAS SONG (chestnuts)which easily stand up to any recordings ever made of these two holiday favorites. Featuring very clean backing of piano, sax solo and rhythm, Patti's voice shines magnificently.
If this cd included only WHITE CHRISTMAS and THE CHRISTMAS SONG, it would still be worth the price.

Patti Page's beautiful voice is gone...2
What once was a lovely crystal-clear voice is now powerless. Although I may still listen to this from time-to-time, I will play my other classic Christmas albums instead. The singing is simply too weak. What a shame.
