By Far the Best Burner
People might not know the Lite on name, but I'd be willing to bet you have used them. Dell, Gateway, Sony, Toshiba all used Lite-On to manufacture their drives at one point.
I've owned this drive, and installed half a dozen of them in friend's computers over the last year and I can say without a doubt Lite-On might very well be the best CD burner manufactures in the world.
I have burned about 230 Cds and ripped about 500 Cds with this drive and it has NEVER given me anything but perfection. Not only is it great for burning CDs, but it's outstanding at digital audio extraction (The process of extracting music from store bought CD). In fact its rated 3rd fastest in the world at pulling audio from Cds, and it does that while keeping the audio free of any noise. This is very important if you're filling that IPod with all those CDs you have.
Buy with confidence.
Lite-On Is Write-On!!
After my Yamaha EZ3200 bit the dust after a year (run don't walk away from any Yamaha cd-writer....they no longer manufactur cd-writers and will not provide any support for them), I needed a quick replacement. Enter this Lite-On CD-RW. Not only is the cost terrific, but it is was a breeze to install. I've been using this writer and Nero software for about 2 months now. I've just made it through my first 50-pack of cd-rs and have not burned one coaster yet! I would recommend this writer to anyone looking for a effective and inexpensive replacement for their old or burned out cd-writer.
****May 2008 Update....still burning strong!!!****
52x32x52
I bought this expecting to hear loud noise but was surpised at actually how quite it is. This drive will be great for extraction or burning of svcd's/divx. Smart burn technology is awesome!! I remember my first cd-rw was a sony 12x8x32. Man what a difference. Can you recall buffer underun ? Thats gone forever !! I even tried this on my old pentium 166 and nothing but ease of use. I think the 2mb buffer has something to do with it to. I would recommend this cd-rw to anyone !! Its the best out there in my eye's !!
