A guilty pleasure.4
This film is a pure guilty pleasure of mine. When I was a kid I loved this movie. One day I was browsing a movie store and found this lost gem for 7 bucks. Needless to say I snatch that little beggar up. Heck I would have spent 15 dollars to recapture a little of my childhood. Amazingly enough I still laughed at some of same parts I did when I was a kid. The characters are just way over the top and very cartoon like, especially Dude, the deadhead. This movie like many of its genre shows everything bad about the 80s, which is one thing I enjoy about films such as these.

This film came out during the same decade that brought us other movies with little killer monsters such as Gremlins, Ghoulies I and II, Puppet Master, and Critters I and II. Granted, Munchies are much tamer movie than those other films, but it has to be the funniest out of the bunch. If you weren't a kid during the 80s you might ask yourself why the heck do some people like this film? Well I guess you just had to be there.

A real Shame5
Its shameful that these sellers are selling the DVD for 50 bucks(that's the least amount).

DON'T BUY IT FOR THAT PRICE. As much as i love this movie, its worth 30 bucks the most if you're a fan. If not, or if you never saw it, its worth between 2-5 bucks and no more.

I love this movie. i use to watch it dozens of times as a kid. Its not a well made movie. If it wasn't for nostalghia, it might not have an audience.

I still own this on VHS and would gladly buy the DVD. But I'm not a sucker and no one should pay these prices for it. It's disgusting.

Brings backs memories....4
I remembered this movie from when I was in High School.. and watching... yes I admit it... it was a corny off beat comedy.. but then again what 80s comedy was not like that... thats what made them so good.. they just don't make them like they used to... but most of the public have turned into a bunch of politically correct amoebas..who are "harmed or offended" by today videos games, something that was said in a movie, etc.. Many of the people today who give these movies bad reviews were not even a twinkle in their pops eyes around during the time of the original release!! There were alot of good movies during the 80s that have been long sense overlooked and forgotten such as: Up the Creek, Up the Academy, Runaway, Mr Mom, etc... all these were movies I watched and loved during my life as a teenager...
