Product Description
Let's cut right to the chase. Our Shorty-Plus 2x barlow is the highest-quality, most versatile barlow you'll ever own. Here's why. It features an air-spaced, three-element apochromatic optical design of 27mm clear aperture, for superior image sharpness and color correction. And, the Shorty-Plus boasts fully multi-coated optics for even greater light transmission. It's small size- just 2-3/4" long- makes it more convenient to use than longer barlows, especially in telescopes equipped with a diagonal, such as refractors and Schmidt-Cassegrains. Its anodized aluminum housing accepts 1.25" eyepieces or diagonal and has a thumbscrew lock. The Shorty-Plus doubles the magnifying power of any eyepiece, providing better eye relief and edge sharpness than you'd get using a shorter-focal-length eyepiece by itself to achieve the same power. Weighs 5 oz. Made in Japan. One-year limited warranty.

Customer Reviews
Gets the job done
As with other Orion products the Shorty Plus 2x 3-Element Barlow is a quality item. As to whether it is worth the extra money for the 3-Element over the regular barlow, save yourself the cash and get the regular 2x Barlow. I would recommend a "shorty" barlow for most scopes as longer 2+x barlows can be difficult to focus.
Best 2X Barlow on the market!!!
This is the best 2X Barlow on the market for the price. What makes it better is it uses 3 lenses instead of the normal 2. I am using with with my Meade ETX-125 with UHTC coating. I would say it would work well with any 1.25" eyepiece telescope.
