Editorial Reviews

Review
Anatomy for Artists provides a good general review of human anatomy for students and artists alike. By describing the surface forms and underlying bone structure and how they work together to permit movement, the DVD is useful for teaching sculpture as well as figure drawing. The model featured has very good muscle definition, thereby highlighting muscular and skeletal systems, simple and complex muscle groups, and human proportions. The DVD is short and well organized; the model wears a brief swimsuit to avoid embarrassing or offending young students. This useful tool will aid in art instruction for high school through adult learners. --Library Journal

Awesome Video!5
Being an art student I usually get books on the subject of anatomy but this time I thought I'd try a DVD and boy I'm glad I did! The program takes you through the various parts of the body from the neck to the feet. The head is handled in a different DVD from the same company. Anatomy for Artists - The Human Head

What makes it really easy to follow is that it's broken down into logical sections--neck, shoulder, upper arm and elbow, midsection, pelvis, etc. Then each section is further divided up by bones, muscles, surface forms and landmarks. It goes further by explaining general rules of proportion, male vs. female differences and body mechanics. They use many classical drawings from the masters as well as a real person to demonstrate the theories.

This DVD has given me new perspective on anatomy. It runs about an hour and it's jammed packed with tons of easy to follow material. I learned alot from it and I highly recommend it!
