The 13 ml red cartridge offers an average of 400 pages based on 5% coverage, and is compatible with the Epson Stylus R800 inkjet printer. Results depend on lighting conditions, humidity, color intensity, color range, and print media. Water-resistant prints are produced using genuine Epson ink cartridges and Epson premium glossy photo papers or Epson photo paper.

Ink is just expensive
It's how the printer companies really make their money. I cringe that it costs me $120 to replace all of my ink cartridges on my Epson R1800 and I never get as many prints as I think I should. A necessity for sure, there is no way around buying these things, I just wish they were a little cheaper. The quality of the inks are very good though and the prints I get from the R1800 are outstanding.

Genuine, and thus perfect
I don't think this ink requires any comments. Its genuine from Epson, period. It's perfect for the Epson printer it's designed for. I don't have a problem using third-party inks on my cheap everyday printers. But for professional quality jobs on a pretty expensive (at least when we bought it a few years ago) Epson Photo R1800 -- genuine ink is the only way to go.
