Product Description

Republic Serial. With LEE POWELL, HERMAN BRIX, CHIEF THUNDERCLOUD, LYNN ROBERTS, WILLIAM FARNUM. An extremely rare serial, long sought and unavailable until now. After the Civil War, five lawmen are determined to bring a ruthless outlaw gang to justice. To help them comes a mysterious masked man and his Indian companion. Astride a white horse...you know the restl The Lone Ranger, one of the greatest legends of the West, is well represented in the very first movie about this famous costumed hero of radio. Filmed only five years after the first Lone Ranger broadcast, the film is a must for radio buffs, serial fans and anyone who appreciates a rip-snortin western adventure. IMPORTANT NOTICE - this film was recently discovered in Mexico and is the only print known to exist. Burdened with a noisy soundtrack, a considerably abridged episode #15, the final indignity comes with the addition of French and Spanish subtitles. (The dialogue is in the original English). Why ! Spanish subtitles? Quien Sabe? Marvel only at the artistic license that changed the Indian companions name to "Ponto" from "Tonto" Be sure youre aware of this films limitations and enjoy it anyway. One of the rarest serials ever offered made from the only print known to existl The Lone Ranger Rides Again! 243 minutes.

Customer Reviews

Great Disappointment Compared to Other Purchases1
This was suppposed to be the complete serial, but after some initial action that appeared introductory about origin of the Lone Ranger the tape began with Edisode 6. The first five episodes were missing. It repeated parts of Episode 6 twice. Tape sound was English, but had Spanish sub-titles. Film depictions of written notices, ransom notes, etc written in Spanish. Film quality fuzzy. Film cut off in the beginning of Episode 12. The cast listing included Frank McGlynn, Jr, one of the foremost portrayors of President Abraham Linclon, but these episodes were missing.
