Forget the Weather Channel!!!
To start off, I moved to Buffalo, New York for college...little did I expect the weather channel to be wrong ALL the time!! This is the perfect solution to my problem! The thermometer works all the time (I have had mine for a month) and is always accurate! I check the weather channel frequently to compare...and mine is always right (I also checked the accuracy with an actual old school outdoor thermometer)! The only thing I would suggest is as it does...keep it out of direct sunlight and direct rain, otherwise it will mess up the sensor and the temperature. The indoor temperature is always accurate as well...I always thought my apartment was cooler then the thermostat said and now I have figured out that all of my windows actually let out the heat. It is just always better knowing the actual weather instead of guesstimates! Hope this helps!
Edit 9/22/2007: Almost 2 years since I purchased the temperature station, and it still works! I saw that one buyer was disappointed with no atomic clock, but if they read the description they would have known that. To be honest, I am still as happy as ever with this product!
Super use of today's technology!
I bought this on a whim and now I wouldn't do without it. This is a simple device with great utility. Mount the sensor under your deck or anywhere else it won't get rained on. Place the main unit in any handy place inside within 80 feet of the sensor. Then follow the easy set up directions and you've got instant access to both indoor and outdoor temps. The unit displays the time plus indoor and outdoor temperature in either Fahrenheit or Celsius.
There are only two buttons, each marked with multiple titles. You'll want to keep the manual handy to get the exact directions for resetting the unit or clock. It's not intuitive using the unit alone. Luckily the web address is printed on the unit and has a manual available to download. The LCD screen is easy to read, but there is no backlight on this model.
La Crosse makes many models with more options, but you can't beat this unit's functionality for the price.

I just received the La Crosse temperature station. I was shocked on the size. very small not to sure if I could read the numbers. Cheap plastic on the display model. I can't believe that this list for $36.95. By looking at the model I would say that a person spent at the MOST $5.00. I bought these all for gifts and will be returning all 4 of them. I have a different indoor outdoor wireless temperature station and love it! My display is 4 times bigger and the quality there's no comparison. I am just to embarrassed to give this as a gift. You need to pay attention to the dimension of this item.
