Customer Reviews
WONDERFUL !
If you enjoyed "A Good Year" this is a gem. The more I listen the more I love Charles Trenet and his music. It reminds me of better times when the world had higher standards. Upbeat, fun, it will make you smile and it will get you moving. Check out all his albums, I have two and they are both great. Highly recommended!
Boum!
Quick confession: I bought this entire album just to get "Boum", which was used as the soundtrack for an Absolut brand vodka ad.
That said, it's a really enjoyable album. Trenet has a great voice, and the lyrics are fun - if you speak French.
He's a sort of French Sinatra, I guess. Great listening.
Marvelous performer
Charles Trenet is an incredible performer. I can't understand why he wasn't better known in the USA in his own right. He was so much better than Maurice Chevalier. I wish I could find DVDs of his French movies.
