A Stunning Album By A Great Saxophone Player!!!!!!!!
What an amazing album! This is Smooth Jazz at its best!So full of life and melody! These are some of the thoughts you will be thinking after you hear this musical gem.Performed by the relatively new saxophonist Michael Lington, this album truly is a joy to hear. You can tell that Michael had a good time recording this one! This album truly deserves all the attention it has gotten on the Smooth Jazz airwaves. You may have already heard of the single from the album, the frequently played "Show Me",but there is much more musical candy on this album, from its beginning to its end.Although there's always a risk of blandness and repetitiveness when it comes to a guy playing the saxophone as the main instrument on an entire album, that certainly isn't the case here. Each of the ten compositions on this album are fresh, full of energy and vitality, and have a distinct melody to them, from happy and upbeat,to easy-going and romantic. While each of these tracks are great to listen to,the best of the best are,"Show Me","A New Day","Apasionada","Pacifica","Stay With Me",and "My Love".An easily accessible album as well as a Smooth Jazz masterpiece.Highly Recommended!
Excellent album! One of the surprises of 2004!
Michael Lington's album is just fabulous! This is my first time hearing him even though this is his 4th album! Kenny G needs to look out behind his back and get back in the studio because Michael will be riding on his turf the next few years! Lington's sax playing is so superb over the more modern edgy numbers. It starts off sounding like a radio-ready pop album the first 3 songs, but it smoothes out later, and the more richer amooth jazz songs dominates the next 7. I have been playing this CD over and over the past 6 to 7 weeks! He will be a face to watch for in modern jazz in the future if his album is promoted the right way.
Radio Music
This is the type of cd you turn one when driving on the highway or after a long day of work. I absolutely loved it.
