Album Description
Imagine you are surrounded by the beautiful Smoky Mountains, freshly covered by a blanket of snow. The sounds of traditional mountain instruments including the cheerful ringing of the Hammered Dulcimer fill the air with the steady and gentle sleigh bells of a passing horse drawn sleigh. This recording embodies all of the wonderful winter wonderland images that you see in your mind ... in music.

Completely Enjoyable Christmas Album
This is a beautiful album of instrumental music, containing many Christmas classics. It features quite a bit of the hammered dulcimer and is very pleasant and upbeat. When I bought this, I was looking for something different from the traditional Christmas choir album. I was a bit worried that this would be a "wang-tangy" album, but it's not at all. It's very sophisticated and provides the perfect background music during holiday parties. This album is enjoyable over and over again. Five stars!
A Wonderful Instrumental Christmas Album
I just discovered Craig Duncan's music this holiday season and I cannot get enough of it. Each track is played with a different combination of instruments, there is no vocal parts song on this CD. The musicians are very talented and the arrangements of the music uniquely done. I would describe the style as folk/bluegrass/old-fashioned. It made me feel that we were celebrating an Old Fashioned Christmas.
I listened to the tracks of this CD and the Christmas in the Mountains CD also by Craig Duncan and chose this one (Christmas in the Smoky Mountains)for two reasons: 1. There was more diversity in the style of each song. In Christmas in the Mountains, each song had the same feel to it, V-I in musical terms or oom-pah. I liked the differentiation on this CD. 2. The choices of song were also diverese, you have olders songs like "I Saw Three Ships" and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" as well as newer ones like "Silver Bells" and "Sleigh Ride."
Overall, I recommend the CD to anyone who likes instrumental music and is looking for something different and unique. I know I will be buying more CD's of Craig Duncan in the future, he has a wide selection of hymn and christian music.
