Album Description
In June 2004 HONOLULU Magazine put together a panel of experts and named The 50 Greatest Hawaii Music Albums Ever. From those great albums we've selected the greatest tunes. Tracks like Olomana's "Seabird," The Brothers Cazimero's classic "Nani Hanalei," and Na Leo's incomparable "Flying With Angels." This album is a must for any Hawai'i music collection. Whether you are a hard core Hawaiian music fan and collector or brand new to the Hawaiian music scene, this is an album that is a must have!

Music anthropology
Very good if you're into the history of hawaiian music, not so if you just want fun hawaiian music to listen to
Acceptable
After multiple trips to Hawai'i I find this album represents the native music about 80%. There are better, but this is acceptable.I don't care for the 101 Strings arrangment on one song. The humor of "Room Service" dates about the time of the "mommie / Daddie" letters from summer camp. I have never heard true Opera on Maui.
Like A Vacation That Was Good, Not Great
This compilation makes for nice background music to a low key summer cocktail party. It's nice and has it's moment, but no one will remember what you played and it won't help propel your party into greatness. That said, I put it on when the kids are doing homework or I'm working with a new recipe or some such nonsense. It fills in the room without occupying my thoughts.
