Smaller AND cheaper? Cool
Warner Home Video has re-released the first three episodes of Justice League on its mini dvd format. These episodes explain how Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and other great heroes come together to thwart an alien invasion.
After seeing the second season and the later series Justice League Unlimited, its hard to be impressed by whats shown here. The story is really basic, the characters don't display much depth beyond their typical surface traits, and a couple of cornball lines and cliches pop up here and there. However as a pilot story it does what it needs to do, acting as a base for future episodes to build from. You can also feel the love and respect the creators have for the source material, which ultimately outweighs the flaws I've listed above.
The original dvd release had no bonus features either, making these two releases the same. If you havent picked this one up yet Amazon.com does list the mini as slightly cheaper, making it the ideal purchase until season sets come out.
