Refreshingly original and effective, relaxing yoga practice5
I'm so pleased I bought this dvd. After accumulating a number of yoga dvds, after a while they start to feel a bit repetitive (you see the same poses pop up again and again). This one is unique and offers something different to my dvd collection. There are a number of moves here I haven't seen elsewhere, as well as interesting variations of tried and true poses. Christa Rypins is clearly knowledgable, not just as the capable kripalu yoga instructor she is, but also in her background as a former professional ice skater and gymnast. The one downside as mentioned in another review, is the barebones indoor setting - an empty room and bare wall. But I'm excited about how fresh her approach is, and how effective this is at relieving body tension so I can sit on the floor for longer periods of time without my body complaining. I'm also finding I'm more comfortable now at the office sitting for long periods of time. I wouldn't just recommend this to meditators. It's an excellent yoga routine in and of itself, very relaxing with gentle postures done mostly on the floor. I like the flexibility of having two short routines (20-25 mins each) on one dvd. Even when I don't follow it with meditation I'll often reach for this dvd when I just want to do gentle, rejuvenating yoga. This is my first yoga dvd by Christa Rypins, and it certainly won't be my last. I look forward to trying her others.

This dvd was exactly what i was looking for.
A yoga practice that is gentle and relaxing (that you can do it day or night) which includes the "body scan" that comes after the yoga excercises,and it s used for a deep relaxation and meditation.
With this dvd i dont have to change discs,it s all in one,that s why i use it all the time.
The instructor is clear,giving you pointers every step of the way,
the poses are wisely chosen,and the body scan towards the end,is very relaxing,although it s a bit quick.
If this dvd,was done in a better setting-it's setting is very simple- and it included a seated meditation practice,after the "yoga nidra"(body scan) it would be perfect.
But still,it s one of the best ,more complete and relaxing yoga dvd s out there,in my opinion.

This is very plain and bare bones but the stretching is great. I feel relaxed afterward, almost like I can breathe better.
