Exceptional History Lesson & Emotional, Patriotic Experience
I visited Arlington National Cemetery for the first time in 1992. I was 30 years old. It moved me so deeply that I stood watching at the Tomb of the Unknowns for 3 hours.

If you love your country and it's history you must make this exceptional DVD documentary a part of your family collection. It is comprehensive and sensitive in it's detail, taking us along as witnesses to the most solemn and private moments in the daily operation of our nation's most beloved military cemetery. The three star review by Jean E. Pouliot (below) is incorrect on numerous points.

As a former cemeterian, I found the material completely accurate without being morose. A true glimpse into a national treasure.

National Geographic: Arlington - Field of Honor
This is a program every American should view and/or own. You will want to see it over and over, although having a tissue handy every time is advisable. True to National Geographic standards, the photography, sound, music and story-telling are all excellent. The program covers the fascinating history of Arlington; some of the famous persons buried there; a genuinely eye-opening portion devoted to the Honor Guard for the Tomb of the Unknowns and how extraordinary the service-people chosen for duty there must be; and behind-the-scenes looks at how the cemetery personnel do their daily tasks. You will know so much when you are finished viewing this DVD! If you have never visited Arlington in person, this will make you want to go, and if you can't go, this DVD will serve as a decent substitute. Highly recommended.

Superb Presentation for Arlington Natl Cemetary
Before I wrote this review, I wanted to see what the other six reviews had to say. I can see why one was not satisfied by the presentation, but I was as was the other five.

As a member of the Honor Guard in the Pacific, not as strict as the Old Guard in Washington, D.C., it brought back memories and I feel that others that were not as fortunate to be a part of such a unit should be given an "insider's view."

As a veteran of ten years in the army, I also have embedded in me an inherent "attention to details" and enjoyed the interviews with cemetary staff.

This Memorial Day, I ordered several books on Arlington as well as this DVD and one from 45 North Productions, "Arlington: In Eternal Vigil," and prefer the National Geographic work more
and as for content, far superior. That is not to say I do not want to own both.
