Amazon.com Product Description
Thermaltake's Kandalf ATX/BTX super-tower computer case (model VA9000BWS) not only looks cool, but it's built for maximum performance. It's outfitted with 4 heavy-duty cooling fans, but designed to accommodate liquid-cooling and fanless thermal cooling systems as well. The tower accommodates Micro ATX, ATX, Extend ATX, and BTX motherboards, and Thermaltake even offers an optional BTX upgrade kit (part number A9358).

The VA3000SWA houses an incredible 18 drive bays (10 x 5.25-inch and 2 x 3.5-inch external, plus 6 x 3.5-inch internal) alongside dual USB 2.0 ports, one IEEE 1394 FireWire port, and minijack ports for audio and speaker outputs. For your security, the side panel is lockable.

Giving you the utmost in design flexibility, the Kandalf chassis offers a relocateable front control panel (power, reset switch, HDD, PWR LEDs), a removable HDD cage, and tool-free installation for 5.25-inch devices.

The built-in air-cooling system consists of rear HDD cooling, 2 rear exhaust fans (one fan at 90 x 90 x 25 mm, 1,800 rpm, 19 dBA and a blue-LED fan measuring 120 x 120 x 25 mm, 1,300 rpm, 17 dBA), a top-mounted exhaust fan (90 x 90 x 25 mm, 1,800 rpm, 19 dBA), and a front intake fan (120 x 120 x 25 mm, 1,300 rpm, 17 dBA).

For a liquid-cooling and fanless systems, the case offers retaining holes for liquid-cooling kits and internal space and internal airflow that's optimized for installing a liquid-cooling or fanless system (fanless CPU/VGA cooler, fanless PSU, and fanless chassis are supported and tested by Thermaltake).

Other features include a retractable foot stand, extra-large thumb screws for easy opening of the side panel, screwless slots for easy assembly, and a ventilation opening on top (with a 62 percent opening ratio).

The complete layout of the case is excellent in design. Every hardware review I've read gives excellent reviews for the design. They all fail to mention, however, that the paint job on the case is horrific (splotchy and flat), and the plexi used in the side panel is so brittle that the first one I received had shattered in shipment. For the price paid for this case, the paint job should be glossy and smooth (look at coolermaster cases), and I'd expect the side panel to take a little bit of movement.
