Customer Reviews
Mediocre sound
This is a live performance from Lisbon. For a recording made in the 1970s, it is in poor sound. The orchestra overshadowns the vocals so much so that at times it is hard to recognize where they are in the opera. It sounds as if the mycrophones were too far from the singers.
Franco Corelli is still good, but not like in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Bakocevic has a beautiful voice and is a convincing Tosca, but due to the poor sound quality sounds like a mezzo.
Bruscantini is an unexciting Scarpia.
Still, it is an interesting performance if you have one or two other Toscas.
