Average customer review:Product Description
After stealing a huge stash of drugs, speed freaks Hector and Dorena plan to cook up an enormous batch of crystal meth and get rich quick. Hector's old buddy Merle has the perfect hideout/meth lab: an old, abandoned farmhouse in the woods where no one will ever find them. Unfortunately, no one will hear their screams either. Turns out, they may not be alone after all. It seems this farmhouse is the site of a horrific urban legend. Now, holed up together with nothing to do but snort, smoke and shoot up, the strung-out "cookers" fall prey to paranoia, private demons and terrifying visions which, whether they are hallucinations or hauntings, are equally terrifying and just as deadly!

Customer Reviews
Interesting, but flawed
3 people(2 men and a woman) head to a remote, rundown 2 story hose in the woods to cook some meth, then plan on selling it, making the fabled 'Big Score' and heading to the Tropics.
Problems soon arise, however, when it seems the house is not what it seems.
As the days go by, and the meth use continues unabated, the question becomes-is anything REALLY occuring of a supernatural nature, or is it all a result of their growing paranoia?
The film is low budget(3 people and a house), but makes the most out of it with a nice sense of growing claustraphobia.
The performances are spot on as well.
However, the movie drags after a while, and Brad Hunt, as the lead, is so obnoxious, it's tough to take him for extended periods at a time.
The horror elements are really low key, but work well enough, esp. towards the end.
If you dont expect more than a grim study of 3 people with serious drugs habbits, you wont be let down, as this acts far more as a drama than outright horror.
AMAZING
Cookers is an incredible look at the dark side of Meth use. Brad Hunt's performance won "Best Actor" at Screamfest & Calgery Intl. Horror film Fest. Hunt is the actor hollywood has managed to keep secret.
This film never got the theatrical release it deserves. It's a must see!
Realistic and belivable
This review is coming from someone who used to do meth. The acting in this movie is really good and is the main reason why I liked the movie so much. This movie captivated me, the setting was in a fantasy location for doing what they were there to do, to cook meth. In an old house out in the woods, this guy and his girlfriend set out to make a huge batch of meth and their friend who is a relative newbie helps bring them supplies. Trippy things start to happen as days continue, that lead to a very suspenseful ending. It's no suprise that the film earned best actor as I just learned from reading another review and just the way the movie was done really gave that realistic feel and overall, it was extremely entertaining to me. This movie is better than Spun in my opinion and in my wife's as well who also loved it and who also used to be a tweeker. The actors' behavior and the content in the movie is so much more realistic and genuine to what actual meth users would be like in real life than it is in Spun.
Even if you've never used meth, due to the great acting from all charachters and in my opinion the very entertaining set and setting as well as being well written, I'd have to say that I would really recommend this movie.
