Album Description
For the first time Walt Disney Records presents the greatest songs and scores from favorite Disney*Pixar films in one CD. The album includes music from WALL*E, The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, Toy Story, Cars, Monsters, Inc. and more. 25 tracks featuring vocal and score music from Pixar films including the brand new movie, UP! This album is the only place to get music from Pixar's UP! on disc.

Almost Perfect...
I love PIXAR movies. They are always entertaining and the music is always a key part of the movies. This compilation is wonderful, including something from every movie, including the new film, UP! Randy Newman is stellar, Thomas Newman gives a classic feel, and Michael Giacchino is now my new favorite composer for his work on Ratatouille and Incredibles and Up! (not to mention his amazing score for Star Trek). The only issue i have is that "Beyond the Sea" by Robbie Williams (from Finding Nemo) was conspicuously left off the CD, while Cars has three pop songs (I could really do without Sheryl Crow's "Real Gone"). It may be possible there were licensing issues, as even that Robbie Williams song is only available on the full Nemo album download and not as an individual mp3. I guess they try to make up for it by including 3 score tracks from Nemo, while only one from Cars, but that's a stretch. All in all, a great compilation but the missing song drops a star for me.
Pixar's Greatest Hits is a winner.
This is an excellent CD of the best music from Pixar movies. I love the hit song "Real Gone" from Sheryl Crow. It really gets me going. I also love the new track "Carl Goes Up" by Michael Giacchino. It is very adventurous and grand sounding. Michael's other beautiful track is entitled "Wall Rat" from "Ratatouille". I also love Randy Newman's vocals on his contributions here. "You've Got A Friend in Me" and "The Time of Your Life" are great songs. I love the pretty French song "Le Festin" from Camille, and I enjoyed the heroic sounding In Credits from The Incredibles. I also love the jazzy sounding music from "Monsters" and upbeat track "Colette Shows Him the Le Ropes". I love all the tracks on this CD.
From 1995 to 2009
Disney took some of the best songs from ten different Pixar films, including the newest addition Up [Theatrical Release]. My 3 1/2 year old was very familiar with all of the songs, but my personal favorite was Peter Gabriel's "Down to Earth" from Wall-E.
Even if you haven't seen all of the Pixar movies featured on this CD, you will appreciate the musical diversity: pop and country artists recorded the first nine tracks, but the rest are a variety of instrumental pieces -- I was surprised at how many my son recognized, calling out the names of the movies. (Some of the tracks seem very brief, but many are quite long.)
Another favorite of ours is Music Play Date. Both CDs are great for trips in the car, whether you'r going to the store or making a road trip.
