Product Description

This is the definitive Deep Purple collection. Featuring loads of rare concert footage from every part of an amazing career plus rare interview footage featuring the uncensored views of the band themselves. Comprehensive and authoritative, this is the definitive review of the music of Deep Purple, on record, in concert and on film. The 3 DVD slim-pac has the high impact of a 3 DVD box set, but uses only the space of a regular DVD.

Deep Purple "Critical Review"...way too expensive for its contains!2
"This is the definitive Deep Purple collection. Featuring loads of rare concert footage from every part of an amazing career plus rare interview footage featuring the uncensored views of the band themselves."

Yeah, this is what we're told to pay almost 35 bucks for.

A waste of money? Well, not exactly, but the price is definately not justified by the content on this triple dvd.

Too much "blah, blah, blah" from People who "know" Deep Purple. (I am a huge Purple fan, and do not know ONE of these so called Purple experts).

Sure, if you're a die hard fan (like myself), this item ius worth collecting, but not at this price! It is waaaaaay too expensive!!!

The most interesting part is DVD no 3, which contains rare live footage from the very early stages of DP MK II.

If you can get a hold of these recordings, don't bother to buy this item. At least if you're not capable of getting it far cheaper than I did.

Footnote: This "Critical review" and/or "Inside" seires is low budget stuff, all together. I have purchased the same series from Rainbow an Genesis, and it's pretty much the same.

Low budget cost in the making, should lead to a low budget price, but it doesn't, and in that context, this is a complete waste of good money!

You Fool No One!1
Well, actually they fooled me. What a gip. I thought that I had found a gem....A DVD set that covered performances of one of the pioneers of metal...the early years of one of the greatest bands ever. Um...no.

The very few performances that you get on this set have terrible A/V quality. My expectations were never high regarding the A/V based on when they were recorded. But the big problem is that THERE ARE HARDLY ANY PERFORMANCES ON THIS 3-DVD SET. This is a DVD set of interviews with bunch of people that maybe knew the band and the whole thing is hosted by some unknown hippy.

And with the performances (mostly cut up out-takes) that you do get, you start screaming at the TV to show the dang performers; the clips show things like the audience, the moon or the sky as the band plays.

The price of this release is a joke for the rubbish content that you get. This piece of crap isn't even worth 5 bucks in my opinion for the relatively uninteresting Deep Purple items of info that you get throughout the set.

Deep Purple fans don't be fooled. Go with Live In Concert 72/73 (although unfortunately mostly in black and white) and/or Live in California '74 if you liked the Coverdale/Burn years. But by all means keep away from the Add to Cart button for Ultimate Review.
