Product Description

THE MIRACLE OF CHANUKAH

LIGHTS magically takes you back to an exciting time in Jewish history. But this is much more than a retelling of the Chanukah story. This is a fascinating fantasy adventure that delivers a universal and always relevant message about the right to be different - every person's inalienable right to stand up for what they believe.

Entertaining and enlightening, the Festival of Lights comes to life through rich animation, lush set design and the powerful narrative of Judd Hirsch (TV'S Taxi, Ordinary People). Also featured are the voices of Leonard Nimoy (Star Trek's Mr. Spock) and Paul Michael Glaser (TV's Starsky and Hutch). LIGHTS will be enjoyed by the whole family at Chanukah time and all year long!

Customer Reviews

Excellent Jewish Animated Children's Movie5
Lights was first brought to my attention by my daughter's second grade hebrew school teacher. Produced approximately twenty years ago, it stars the voice of Jewish actor Leonard Nimoy "Spock" of Star Trek fame and other famous Jewish actors. Our Rabbi's wife wanted this DVD as well as my family and friends.

timelss & enchanting5
We'd had this on (mono) VHS for years; now on DVD. This cartoon tells the story of the Hellenist Greeks, their culture, & their inability to dim the spark of Jewish holiness and connection to G-d. Clever animation, especially of the Hebrew alphabet, gets even toddlers involved in the story. Well worth showing to kids of all ages at Chanukah.
