It's no secret that life's darkest moments often place us face-to-face with whatever, or wherever, we've placed our faith. That is the emotional climate listeners will find themselves in with Third Day's Wherever You Are, the band's eighth major release and a transparent and stark portrayal of where one finds the reason to carry on. Dealing with a number of recent personal tragedies, the band has forged its finest work to date with a collection of material that ranges from raging rockers to contemplative worship songs. The release opens with the take-no-prisoners urgency of "Tunnel" and finds singer Mac Powell offering hope in the face of difficulty and backed by the driving guitar work of Brad Avery and Mark Lee. The first single, "Cry Out to Jesus," simmers in a lyrical candor that can't help but be an emotional powerhouse as the song is carried by the band's rocking spirit. "I Can Feel It" is another wall-of-sound, guitar storm guaranteed to move you. Worship roots remain strong (see Offerings and Offerings II) as well for Third Day and we can find them on the reflective "Communion." Never ones to back down from the delicate issues, Third Day tackles church hypocrisy and judgmental attitudes with the searing "How Do You Know." The passion and talent of Third Day shines brightly here, making it the band's finest moment and one of Christian rock's best releases in recent memory. --Michael Lyttle

Continued greatness5
Third Day's new album 'Wherever You Are' continues Third Day's legacy of releasing great albums. A personal favorite is Cry Out To Jesus which is a wonderful song that really hits home when thinking of people going through tough and tragic times. The album starts out with a fast paced song called Tunnel which is great for those that love the fast paced songs. The song Communion was written after the band saw 'The Passion of the Christ' so I found that to be an inspired song as well. This album has all tempos and has something for everyone. Something pretty cool about this release is that there are 3 different album covers. In order to be able to pick you'd have to go to your local Christian bookstore vs. the ease of ordering it over the internet but a couple of the album covers are pretty cool. Give this album a listen and you won't be disappointed!

Third Day keeps getting better and better5
I am in my fourties and grew up listening to bands like Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith. I am now a born again Christian but still enjoy listening to rock music. When I first heard Third Day I loved their music because of the rock beat and spiritual lyrics. There music seems to get better and better with the release of every CD. This 'Whereever You Are' CD is by far their best CD to date.

Great Christian Rock5
Third Day has once again put together an album that is terrific musically as well as having solid Christian lyrics.

This album really speaks to those who are struggling with issues in life (everyone). It does so in a positive way that focuses on the solution to every problem - Jesus.

There are several good songs on this album and no bad ones. There are three real standout songs in my opinion. 'Cry Out To Jesus' has received a lot of airplay on the radio. It speaks to those who are dealing with death, troubled marriages, loneliness, and the other struggles of this life. It provides a solution: Cry out to Jesus. 'Tunnel' is a very energetic song relating that there is light at the end of this tunnel. Finally, 'Communion' is a powerful song that portrays the power of this remembrance of the Savior of the World with a great modern sound.

As with virtually anything recorded by Third Day, I highly recommend this CD.
