Customer Reviews

not thrilled with the album3
My husband and I are huge Savage Garden fans. We were both disappointed with this album. It seems like towards the end of the CD they were just trying to fill in space. It is ashame because there were so many other wonderful songs they created that did not appear on the album. I would reccomend buying the original CD's separately, get more for your money that way.

Good Collection, Why Remastered Though?3
All the hits are here despite only having two CDs. The addition of the two new Darren songs is great, I can't get "So Beautiful" out of my head. "California" is also pretty good, but I don't care much for any of the B-sides that follow that song. I would have much rather had more hits or fan favorites than these songs that didn't make it to the albums for a reason.

I didn't really see the need to digitally Remaster ANY of these songs...they aren't decades old, don't fix what isn't broken. I can't help but notice a difference in the songs...they just sound tampered with...but some people probably wouldn't notice. Oh well...btw check out Darren's CD "The Tension And the Spark" very highly recommended.

Who Could Possibly Not Like Savage Garden?5
Savage Garden was around when I was growing up, and their debut cd was the first album I ever owned. All that time, I never heard anyone say that their music sucked. There have been people who have said that they are a bit sugar-coated, but admit that they have relatable emotion and catchy lyrics. I have seen grown men cry to songs like "Truly, Madly, Deeply" and "I Knew I Loved You." Beautiful and senstive songs that just let you zone out and think about lost-loves, new-loves, etc. If only radio today could have good music like this these days. Anyway, they didn't leave any good songs off this album, so long-time fans and new ones will like it equally. Also, new and lesser songs by Savage Garden and Darren Hayes appear, including "So Beautiful" which shows the high voice of Hayes without being annoying. Very nicely done. Here's the run-down:

01. I Want You: Their first single released in the U.S. I really like this song because it's upbeat (lyrics are fly by but you can understand everything they are saying) and it pretty much explains any relationship that everyone's been apart of.

02. I Knew I Loved You: Part of the romantic side of Savage Garden. Chicks will love this song because it says what they wish every senstive guy would tell them. Pure cheesy awesome-ness.

03. To The Moon & Back: One of my personal favorites tracks. Upbeat and unlike anything heard on the radio at the time (or even today). The ending to this song makes it feel like it should have been the closing track, but since it's so great of a song, it had to be the front.

04. Hold Me: Another sweet song for the ladies. With lyrics like, "finding it hard to be your man" you know that it will melt your heart. (And I say that with full security about my sexuality)

I'll finish the review later. Stay tuned
