Piece of junk
I read a previous review that this thing was a piece of junk but ignored it anyway. Well, I should have listened. I own a business and needed a "fitting room" type sensor to alert me when customers came through the door. I thought that this device was doing the job although it was annoyingly loud even at its lowest setting. However, it stopped working after 2 weeks. I returned it and although was kinda PO'd that I had to pay to ship it back, I was hopeful that the thing was just a lemon and the next one I would get one would work. I was wrong. The second one stopped working, too!

I bought 4 of these and they stink, pice of junk. Your better throwing your money in the wind.

NOT a typical motion detector!!! beware
This may quite possibly be the world's worst product. I bought this expecting a traditional motion detector, where I could plant the transmitter out in my yard, then have my receiver inside to hear if anything tripped the beam. Unfortunately, the description of the product doesn't mention this important fact: both the transmitter AND the receiver must be pointed towards each other, not more than 50 feet apart in order for the system to work! In other words, there is NO receiver you can plant at a distance to hear if the beam is broken, BOTH components must be pointed at each other, or it won't function.

These don't appear to be weatherproof at all, and the instruction are a poorly-written translation, not complete or descriptive, and full of typos. The volume of this thing is so friggin loud that even in the SOFTEST setting, I had to put 2 layers of tape over the speaker so it wouldn't give me a heart attack every time it went off.

All in all, a strange product that I can't imagine having very many uses. Maybe like the previous reviewer said, scaring cats off the counter, or something. But try using it in a shop to annoucne customers, and they'll likely have a heart attack right there on the spot when they hear the crazy-loud chimes go off. I wanted a regular motion detector which would shoot out an infared beam that, if crossed, would sound an alarm on the receiver which I could put down anywhere. I had no idea this product doesn't even come close to fufilling that need.
