About the Artist
Music played an important role in Aaron's upbringing. He was born of Native American / African American heritage into a household where no one else played an instrument. Aaron's talent began to shine at an early age, and by the time he was fifteen, he was playing professionally, performing with a wide range of local bands and even and also writing his own songs. "Music was something that came naturally to me. It was what I enjoyed and loved so much. I learned how to play other instruments all through high school and even started arranging parts for the marching band." With a wide range of musical influences that include Grover Washington, Jr., David Sanborn and Walter Affanasief, Aaron never stopped challenging himself. Even though he never really studied jazz, he was soon garnering rave reviews about his soulful sound. "I studied everyone," explained Aaron. "Kenny G, Najee, Gerald Albright, as much jazz as I could find." In the process, he discovered his own innate soulfulness. Through it all, Aaron kept writing. "I wrote my first song in the 10th grade. It was during that time I knew music was something I wanted to do as a career. By the time I graduated high school I had written an entire album. I just kept producing demos with the aim of getting a record deal." Aaron has opened up for such artists as The Temptations, Brian McKnight, Brownstone, Lenny Williams And Ann Nesby, just to name a few. Asked to comment on his musical style, Aaron paused, "Every note that I play comes from my soul. That's something that can't be rehearsed or played over and over. All of my emotions and feelings reflect in my playing. I play every song like it's the last time I'll ever play." Introducing his new single "Softwinds," Aaron also has the full length CD album slated for October '05 release. Exciting and fresh, Tender yet powerful, Aaron Bing offers his own brand of Jazz. His Century debut signals the arrival of a major, new talent, with music for audiences the world over.
