Customer Reviews
It's done the job for me just fine so far!
Wow! It's a stapler. Um...well...what more can you say?
I've had my Bostitch B440 stapler for about 5 years, and it still does its thing day in and day out as needed. I admittedly don't do a ton of stapling, since I don't work at a stapling store or anything, but it does a good job.
This light-weight stapler uses standard staples (e.g. swingline SF4 size). I had a swingline stapler before this one, and there are a few differences. In the Bostitch, the staples rest on top of a metal piece, while in the swingline they stradled a metal center piece. Is one better than the other? Um...not as far as I can tell.
The staples are fed forward by plastic piece attached to a spring.
Well, what else can I say to excite you about this stapler? Oh, this is no big surprise for you seasoned staplers out there, but the stapler can either staple papers together by causing the staple to fold in toward itself or outward (though I've never figured out when or why you would want staples to bend outward...?) Anyway, you switch from one option to the other by pushing up on a button on the bottom of the stapler and rotaing the metal plate jsut below the slot through which staples are dispensed.
And, for some REAL stapling excitement, you can pull the base and the upper portion away from each other and you can use the stapler as a light-weight staple gun...good for bulletin boards, soft wood, etc.
So, that's all I can muster to tell you about this stapler, except that mine is...drum roll...black.
5 stars...thanks Bostitch!
