one of the great movies
the picture show man is not only an australian masterpiece but also world showcase of australian talent.this non violent movie deals with the transition from silent to talking movies in the north east coastal area of new south wales.the use of comedy to explain this transition from horse drawn carts to modern vehicles is a storytellers delight helped by the competition between the two rival picture show men (john mellion and rod taylor)there is enough diversity of appeal to ensure all family members (except the "die hard"sub mentality)enjoy this light hearted romp in the australian bush..the mid period costumes are an added bonus....
